This project is exploring ways to improve the living environment of Tiantongyuan community.
Half a million people live on eight square kilometers of land in Tiantongyuan community in Beijing.Although the population density is astonishing, the relationship between neighbors is very distant in the life of leaving early and returning late. Dense buildings, so that designers can not continue to use the way of architectural transformation to explore.
I found through research that there is a great lack of green plants here. So I designed an APP called "BOTANIC UTOPIA". Residents can plant virtual plants on their mobile phones, share personal hobbies, and find like-minded friends. This can increase the vitality of the community and enhance the communication among residents.
Through this APP, residents can work together to build a vibrant and colorful community.

这个项目是在探索天通苑社区居住环境的改善方式。
北京的天通苑社区在8平方公里的地盘上居住了50万人。虽然人口密度惊人，但是在早出晚归的生活中，邻里关系很疏远。密集的楼盘，使得设计师无法继续用建筑改造的方式来进行探索。
我通过调研发现，这里非常缺少绿色的植物。因此我设计一款APP，叫做“BOTANIC UTOPIA”。居民可以在手机上种植虚拟植物，并且可以分享个人爱好，并寻找志同道合的朋友。这样可以增加社区的活力，也可以增强居民们的交流。
通过这个应用，居民们可以合力建立一个充满生机的、色彩的社区。

The environment of the neighbourhood was observed and mapped out. It was found that there was a lack of green elements in the community. Therefore, I created a kinetic video of people's life routes to find design ideas.

对社区环境进行了观察和规划。我们发现该社区缺乏绿色元素。因此，我将人们的生活轨迹制作成动态视频，以寻找设计灵感。

I finally decided to use the concept of 'community design' for this project. In the Tiantongyuan community, the busy work life makes the relationship between neighbours unfamiliar." Community Design" is about activating the community through design and art, creating unique social values in the community, thus awakening and strengthening the collective cohesion of the residents. Under the existing spatial conditions in Tiantongyuan, I found that simple public space renovation and architectural design could no longer change the residents' needs for community life. Therefore, I created an app called "BOTANIC UTOPIA" from the residents' perspective, where residents can grow plants together in the community and build a vibrant and colourful community.

我最终决定在这个项目中使用'社区设计'的概念。在天通苑社区，繁忙的工作生活让邻里关系变得陌生。社区设计 "是通过设计和艺术激活社区，创造社区独特的社会价值，从而唤醒和增强居民的集体凝聚力。在天通苑现有的空间条件下，我发现简单的公共空间改造和建筑设计已经无法改变居民对社区生活的需求。因此，我从居民的角度出发，设计了一款名为 "植BOTANIC UTOPIA "的应用程序，让居民在社区内共同种植植物，构建一个充满活力、丰富多彩的社区。
